St. Vincent Ferrer, by Henry Gheon, trans by FJ Sheed

ANGEL's trumpet

The flower that we have chosen to associate with St. Vincent Ferrer was one of the most natural selections that we’ve yet made; St. Ferrer’s firey and potent sermons earned him the (deserved) self-title of ‘Angel of the Apocalypse’. Knowing that the masses needed firm declarations of truth from the pulpit, St. Ferrer spoke with passionate fervor to help guide the people and herald the truth, reminding them the terrible things that follow in the wake of adherence to falsehood.

Given his moniker and the fact that he is depicted with trumpets in his iconography -- that tool to spread his preaching of the truth -- we have paired with St. Ferrer the Angel’s Trumpet: a beautiful flower, befitting the Angel of the Apocalypse and his desperate love for the truth and Heaven.
